8 Ways to Accessorize Your Dog Photography Session
I've always thought of accessories as the exclamation point of a woman's outfit. ~Michael Kors
Fun fact: my husband buys our dogs new collars all the time because he says they don't get new shoes like I do 🤷🏻♀️
Haute Dog Pet Photography specializes in creating fashion-forward photos that are just like your pet - one of a kind. Inspired by the runways of London and Paris, we use bold colors, dynamic angles, and avant-garde lighting to make your dog's larger-than-life personality live forever. And what better way to showcase that personality than with your favorite accessories? We've put together a list of some of our favorite pieces of pet photography flare.
1. FLOWERS
Flower crowns and collars make a fabulous addition to any session. Check out Designs by Wildside for the pink flowers in the first image with the French Bulldogs as well as a plethora of cute dog collars!
2. BANDANAS
Show off your school spirit, favorite pattern, or a goofy catch phrase.
3. TOYS
Does your dog have a stuffy they carry everywhere around the house? Obsessed with tennis balls? Including your dog's favorite toy in their photo session contributes to their story and some of your favorite activities with them!
4. FASHION
Fashion accessories are a great way to dress up your dog photography session. Sophie the English Cream Labrador looked like she walked out of an LL Bean catalog sporting her beautiful crimson scarf, which was a perfect nod to her commercial product stylist mom. Grizzly the German Shepherd and Tuti the Chihuahua mix were dressed to the (ca)nines complete with rhinestones and shirt cuffs for their Vanity Fur™ styled shoot.
5. STORY-TELLING ACCESSORIES
Accessories can help tell the story of you and your dog. Tug Boat, the Alaskan Malamute service dog to a ship captain, proudly sat next to a real ship's wheel on the shoreline of the harbor.

6. COLLARS
While we're happy to edit out your dog's leash and collar, a shiny new one can often add to the photo! Check out the contrast between Hudson the Great Dane's red collar and the blue storm clouds or the coordination between Satchmo the Labrador's orange hunting collar with the studio backdrop!
For a truly personalized option, check out Friendship Collars to coordinate accessories for you and your dog!

7. SETS AND LOCATIONS
When Charlotte and Wilbur's mom contacted us for their dog photography session, it was a no-brainer that we had to design an epic tribute to Charlotte's Web. We suggested a super fun rustic barn location, then superimposed this take on Charlotte's "some pig" to read "some Pug."

8. CARS
Whether it's a Jeep thing or a sunny Saturday with the top down in the Beamer, we love photographing the joy of a good car ride.
